Tata Safari Storme

It may be long in the tooth now but Tata Motors hasn’t given up on the Safari just yet. The big Tata is to receive a major update in early 2012. Styling changes are focused largely on the front and include striking new L-shaped headlights and a more pronounced front bumper. Interior quality should be similar to the more expensive Tata Aria and equipment levels could be enhanced as well. The biggest change though will be under the skin with the new Safari set to adopt Tata’s new X2 platform that debuted on the Aria. Shortened to the Safari’s 2650mm wheelbase, the X2 will change the way the Safari drives and ride, handling and noise insulation should see a marked improvement. The 140bhp 2.2 DiCOR diesel engine will power the new model but will be substantially worked on to improve refinement. Expect the updated Safari to bear a price tag of around Rs 11 lakh.

Jean Baptiste describes it as a "two wheel muscle car", hiding it's electrical drivetrain and batteries in the frame. Featuring a FORMULA 1 inspired KINETIC ENERGY RECOVERY SYSTEM (KERS), that essentially coverts your braking into energy.


Originally conceived as a single global design, this customizable creation could be the shape of things to come.

Designed by Industrial Designer Erik Holmen and owner of ROBRADY design, Rob Brady. The Vectrix Superbike heavily borrows on the rMOTO vision. It also features state-of-the-art clean technology—a motor and batteries instead of an engine, fuel tank, etc.—appointed as a result of an engineering roundtable with various design and manufacturing partners. Every car company has at one time or another produced a concept car that would make the rounds of the auto shows and test the waters for future styling. General Motors produced a fleet of cars that made the Futurama circuit over several years. This was a car designed by a mechanical engineer in the 1940s. The car holds some classic lines from the pre war era cars that were still in production and combined them with a low stylish body.
